Balm In Gilead
In the gift of grace
love has a mystery to reveal,
not of the healing balm in Gilead,
but of a faith in Jesus that is still –
while aromatic properties may dress our wounds,
it is in Him we can always appeal.
Challenge all your sentiments.
Do you question what is real?
Reliance on the balms in life can be shed
when a faith in Christ does forth spill;
aromatic properties may soothe these wounds,
but with the Gospel now we can heal.
Who gets your best energies:
Your family or the stationary wheel?
Jesus became fully God and man,
His death for our sins he appealed,
while aromatic properties may comfort our wounds,
His blessings in our lives are real.
Elevated morality nailed up His cross,
their degraded prophecy, blind to the reveal,
that He died, and He rose and He’s returning again
And His love is of an unmatched zeal.
Though aromatic properties may relieve some wounds,
I pray before the last breath that we steal –
before the keeper of time shall reveal –
before judgment breaks open the seal –
that we can trust in, and
embrace His good will.
